Clear Dots or Tiles of Glue for Synthetic or Plastic Nail Art

If you are comfortable wearing your fingernails short but wishing you have long and beautiful fingernails, then synthetic or plastic nail  is an option.

It is possible to get synthetic nails at a salon, but you will be spending a lot of money to get them redone. With a few simple tools you can stick on nail art, synthetic nails or fake plastic nails in the comfort of your own home. This will help save money and time and enjoy the ability to change your nails as often as you want.

During the holidays, I thought I would break away from my daily regimen and try these plastic nails I have had sitting in my closet for a long time. I was looking for some glue to use to stick on my plastic nails and used the glue that came with the package but they kept falling off.  I was afraid to use a wet glue because of the residue and damage it may cause to my fingernails. I read somewhere it may even be very difficult to remove afterwards and soaking them with nail polish remover can cause chemical burns.

An idea just struck me to try SQOTS™ Glue Dot Tabs instead.  SQOTS Clear Square Dots or Tiles of Glue are pressure-sensitive adhesives that form a clean, instant bond to a multitude of surfaces. They are a double sided adhesive dots that are easy to apply and remove.  Dispensed one at a time, SQOTS™ Tabs did the job painlessly for me and I was not afraid to remove them later.  I was surprised at how strong the bond is to the fingernails and the plastic nail. I had them on for hours!

  1. Wash your hands and remove all nail polish from your nails using nail polish remover. Buff your nails with a nail buffer.
  2. Identify which of the fake nails are the perfect sizes for your current nails. The package will contain many different sizes that you might need to mix and match to find the perfect set for you.
  3. Using the Tabs format of SQOTS™ Dots or Tiles of Glue, you can prepare the nails and peel off the backing paper when you are ready to apply each of the fake plastic nails onto each of your real nails. Hold each nail for three seconds one nail at a time. You will feel the instant bond and you will be confident they will not fall off anytime soon.  You can also bring some extra Clear Square Dots or Tiles of Glue in your purse just in case because the SQOTS™ Dots or Tiles of Glue in TAB format come in a small handy pack of 180 that easily slips into your handbag.

How to Remove Synthetic or Plastic Nails if you used SQOTS™ Clear Square Dots or Tiles of Glue?

Remove the plastic nails by gently shearing it off your nails sideways or sliding the fake nail along the direction of your nail until it budges.  What is happening underneath is that the square glue dot is stretching and when it stretches the glue dot begins to release.   If you pull up off your nail the adhesive will be very hard to remove; so remember to stretch the SQOTS™ when you remove the fake nails.  Because the Clear Square Dots or Tiles of Glue are also easily removed by again stetching the adhesive the plastic nails can be reused again as the removable Clear Square Dots or Tiles of Glue did not do any damage to them.

My only question, why is this product not yet included in any of the nail art kit and beauty supplies in todays market?

Maybe SQOTS™ will soon become part of nail art kit and beauty supplies because now that SQOTS™ are available, there is an easy to apply affordable Square Glue dot that can evenly hold fake nails in place (I can not imagine an uneven “round” or squashed, flat glue dot being as effective for my fake nails.)
