Preserve Your Children’s Creative Work

Preserving our children’s creative works is really preserving our memories of them as children and helps them feel appreciated and loved.  It feels wrong to quickly look at each artwork and then throw it away.  Keeping and displaying their artwork for some time will encourage them to be more enthusiastic and creative, which can only help develop their artistic skills.

With our busy schedules, we don’t often have the chance to open our treasure chests, which hold our children’s arts and creative works.  When we do, we are left to wonder how fast they have grown up and realize the special efforts they have put into creating their artworks for us!

As parents we are the number 1 fans for our children. Both children and parents connect with their creations and so we need to figure out what to do with all the artworks from school and home projects.  It  would be wonderful if we have endless space in our homes to display the works of art.  However, this is not usually the case and SQOTS™ are a great solution to displaying all the artwork for a while and then conveniently displaying new artwork in its place.

One idea is to use SQOTS™ Applicator Box (Clear Square Dots or Tiles of Glue, which can be easily removed without damaging your walls*) to stick the artworks on the fridge or your kid’s bedroom wall.  As children like to create, it is only a matter of time before we need to take down some of the old art to make way for the newer creations.

Some suggestions are:

  1. Take a picture of the wall with your child beside it to mark his/her age when the artworks were created.
  2. Remove the artworks carefully without damaging them (this can be achieved easily if you have used SQOTS™ removable Clear Square Dots or Tiles of Glue)
  3. File some of the creative work neatly in clear books or binders with your kids photo – using  SQOTS™ to arrange the artwok within the larger pages – a bit like scrapbooking.
  4. Some of the artworks can be repurposed by creating wall murals for their bedrooms, paper maches to be used as paper collage or as covers for their sketch books or scrapbooks.
Working on simple art projects at home can help your child become more independent and assertive. Most importantly, it will give them a sense of accomplishment.

*As with all SQOTS™ applications where applying to walls and surfaces the surface needs to be tested such that the SQOTS™ can be removed cleanly. See the YouTube videos for demonstrations on how to remove SQOTS™.  Also it should be noted SQOTS™ do eventually become permanent though should remain removable for up to 3 weeks.
